I know, I knoww…the phrase “marketing tactics” sounds like it describes some sort of trap to get people to buy stuff. At the end of the day the objective of marketing is to get someone to take some sort of action.
Often times a purchase.
But if you were to ask me (thanks for asking), I don’t see it as a trap like most would envision if the people you have attracted through your content are legitimately interested in what you do.
When establishing a legitimate following and loyal customer base online there are usually some commonalities present. Similar views, opinions, and values are only a few named here.
However, when present, an impenetrable level of rapport begins to develop. First time buyers mature into lifelong customers and even begin to form a tribe.
Love for your mistakes…
Being perfectly imperfect will be one of the most important reasons you have a following to begin with. No one is perfect, so show that you are no different.
Authenticity is something that most lack when trying to build a strong following or business. When writing your content be an open book and talk about the mistakes you’ve made in your life and business journeys.
When shooting your videos DO NOT edit the human parts. This is huge!
Like when you burp, or lose your train of thought for a second, or when the phone rings, or even if someone walks in the room while you are recording! This is everyday human mistakes that resonate with everyday people.
If you can learn to show people that everything doesn’t have to be perfect while still getting your marketing message and calls to action across then people will absolutely adore you for it.
Stinginess is NOT welcome here…
Since we just touched on embracing mistakes and being authentic I’d be a hypocrite to say I haven’t been a culprit of being stingy on the content.
I’ve always created content. That’s one thing I’ve always gotten right. However when I started my journey online I would often times hold out on giving away really valuable information.
Ironically, this valuable information is the difference between simply getting quality traffic to my content and converting that traffic into subscribers who trust me with their information.

I’ve paid the price for not doing this in the passed but the lesson learned is greatly attributed to my success today! People want real answers and real solutions and you better be there to give it to them.
Your opinion matters…
This may be the last “tactic” but it is far from the least. For the love of GOD please have an opinion! Not just any ole opinion but a strong one!
The true leaders create that following because they have strong opinions and values that they stand by.
They are leaders because there opinions are often times the voice for the individuals who also share the same opinions but aren’t equipped with the tools to be heard.
Now, the way you can start to form your own opinions is to listen to what other influential people in your niche have to say about the subject matter. You don’t have to agree with them but it certainly gives you perspective.
That’s all it really is…perspective. Just make sure when you present your opinions or perspectives within your content back it up with some sound, strong arguments.

Notice these marketing tactics aren’t very technical in any sense. They simply require authenticity and a passion for the subject matter, that’s it!
So consider these before you try to bait and trick people into buying from you over and over again. It’s just easier to be you!
